On Nov. 9, the Delta Lambda chapter at the University of Cincinnati hosted its third annual Activity Day signature event.
The event saw about 100 volunteers show up to spend the day with approximately 200 children from the Cincinnati area. The chapter provided a day of games, competitions, bounce houses, sports and face painting among many other activities for the children.
“We specifically partner with the most impoverished communities for this event,” said chapter vice president, Doug Donnan, Cincinnati ’14. “It’s incredible to see the smiles on these kids faces when they come to Activity Day."
“We go and tutor these kids every Monday.” said community service chair, Rash Abdelwahed, Cincinnati ’14. “Activity Day is an opportunity to build on those connections and get away from the school work and bring the kids here to enjoy the day.”
All proceeds from the event were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati.
