This summer, eight brothers rode bikes 150 miles for the National MS Society as part of the Bike MS program. These brothers consisted of 5 actives and 3 alumnus, including our Chapter Adviser Roger Patterson who is 77 years old. This ride put us over $100,000 raised in the past 10 years for the National MS Society to fund research for the battle against Multiple Sclerosis. We love doing this ride and will continue to do so in the future!

Beta Rho had five active brothers participate in the annual Mid-Ohio Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's, in Williamstown West Virginia. The weather was beautiful and the walk was a blast! The brothers were asked to participate alongside the Sigma Kappa sorority. The brothers not only participated but raised several hundred dollars to donate to the Sigma Kappa cause.

The brothers of the Beta Rho Chapter took to the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend for a Brotherhood retreat. The chapter rented a very large cabin at the top of a mountain; a cabin fitted with a home theater, hot tubs, 8 Balconies and many more amenities. 23 Brothers and Pledges were able to make the trip. Events included visiting the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge strip, venturing to a mall and ice skating on top of a mountain, and spending time getting to know other members.

Marietta College had an eventful homecoming for its brothers. Our signature philanthropy event Cycle 4 MS just wrapped up, benefiting the National MS Society. The brothers keep stationary bikes moving for an entire week during homecoming (168 hours straight). We were honored to have the President of College come and finish off our final hour shift! Brother Garrett Legraen '18, ran for homecoming king. although Garrett didn't win, we were honored to take 3rd place overall in the contest. This was a great way for brothers to work together and take home a trophy. Lastly, during our homecoming, alumni came to tailgate and cheer on several members who are on Marietta's football team. This was a great event considering Marietta took out #24 ranked Heidelberg football. Overall, the weekend went fantastic and we were grateful to see brothers from the past!

Brothers and Fathers alike, supported the Pioneer's Football team (First time with a winning season in 11 years!). After the tailgate, the dad's relaxed and grilled out with the brothers! It's always important for us to remember family! We had a great time and hope we can plan for my family get togethers!

Brother Jimmy Kovatch broke the Marietta College pole vault record this season by clearing 4.80 meters. The record was previously 4.76 meters; held by Jimmy again. Kovatch’s winning height is the seventh best in the nation this winter. Brother Kovatch is a phenomenal athlete as well as the Beta Rho Scribe. Here's to several more years of breaking his own records!

Recently, the mothers of Beta Rho brothers came to campus for a weekend. The moms spent time with their sons, met other parents and enjoyed some fun activities. The moms were given a downtown tour of Marietta, ate lunch together, enjoyed a wine tasting at a local winery, and finished the night off with karaoke and funny stories. We love having parents get involved!

Beta Rho held its annual spring recognition dinner. The chapter invites faculty and administration from Marietta College. This year, we had the College President, professors, and student life administrators attend. We use this dinner to reflect on the achievements we have made in the past year, socialize with school officials, and give awards and make donations to the school. This dinner really gives us the opportunity to stand out from the rest of Greek Life at Marietta. #ATOLeads

The women of Alpha Xi Delta hosted their annual philanthropy event, Xi Man, this week. Different student organizations around campus can nominate a competitor. The Beta Rho chapter nominated brother Patrick Moran '18 to compete. The competition is judged based on money raised, a talent competition, and a speech given. Brother Moran did scooter tricks and raised the most money for Xi Man; so he was crowned Winner or "Xi Man" for 2018.

Brothers traveled to Ritchie County Mines in Ritchie County, West Virginia to retrieve a rock called Grahamite. Grahamite only occurs in 3 places in the world; West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Mexico. The Brothers traveled to get a sample for an alumni who had a sample, that meant a lot to him, who had lost it. Beta Rho hiked about 8 miles along old trails and streams to get to the old mine. We had a great time going through the wilderness.
