Former Alpha Epsilon President Brad Prosch (Fall 15-16), and Brother John Morson (PC '14) have found their calling at UA School of Law. Fresh off his one year stint in East Asia, Morson started law school in early August and plans to focus on business law after graduation. Under Brother Prosch's reign as President, the Chapter of Alpha Epsilon saw tremendous membership and financial growth. Prosch, often regarded as the most progressive leader of his time, was a trailblazer, as he attempted to increase brotherhood dues in an unprecedented act. Upon graduation in two years, Brother Prosch plans to focus on corporate defense. #AEAlumniUpdate #TauTuesday

Fresh off his morning shift, Brother Jones (PC ’17) was notified of his recognition of Alpha Epsilon’s “Brother of the Week”. Jones, known for his childlike wonder and auspicious outlook on life, let out a chuckle and humbly accepted the prestigious award. Jones, who is a student at McWhorter School of Building Science, has a big week ahead of him as he prepares for his Physics exam on Friday covering chapters 1-4. The Brotherhood looks forward to hearing from Jone’s following committee head updates during “Jud’s Weekly IFC Report” at Chapter.

Brother Regan Drake is set to attend the highly-esteemed University of Chicago Law School, whose notable faculty and alumni include former President Barack Obama and founder of TMZ, Harvey Levin. Former President Drake’s stint in office can be described by a time of prosperity and fulfilled promises for the Chapter. Drake took quick action in addressing the Chapter’s number one concern of installing Wi-Fi technology at the house. Drake went on to launch Alpha Epsilon’s first annual Powder Puff Tournament, which has since raised more than $30,000 for charity over a short two-year span. Under his leadership, the Chapter successfully hosted Grammy nominated artist B.o.B., further solidifying Drake’s legacy at Alpha Epsilon. #AEAlumniUpdate #TauTuesday

The Brotherhood of Alpha Epsilon came together, along with the ladies of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, to design and build a Homecoming float to enter into the competition put on by the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. Under the vision of Brother McMahon (PC '17) and Brother Young (PC '18), the Chapter successfully brought home first place honors. Thank you to all the brothers that sacrificed their time to help us win this competition. #TausOnTop

Realizing the 2018 year is 76 % of the way through, Mahoney (PC '17) and Dimonekas (PC '18) confidently state next year is their year to shine. Citing the lack of that one "stand out" moment this year, the two are ready to hit the reset button and take Alpha Epsilon by storm. Mahoney stated "I think our presence at the house has been noticed and we are really starting to connect with some of the older guys". Dimonekas went as far as suggesting interest in running for a leadership role at Alpha Epsilon next semester. Mahoney and Dimonekas can most likely be found along West Mag either shooting pool at the house or hitting the books in the Lowder Center for Family Business and Entrepreneurship. #Brother(s)OfTheWeek

After shattering the unofficial record of time spent studying at 926 West Magnolia, Brother Nicholas Dutton (PC '16) shows no signs of deviating from his rigorous study schedule. Dutton, who has somehow managed to maintain a consistent 30 + hour a week study routine, attributes his success to his hard work ethic and having a strong network of brothers that hold him accountable. These habits have led him to become initiated into Tau Beta Pi, the oldest engineering honor society in the United States. It's no secret that you can most likely find Dutton, a chemical engineering major, in the living room at Alpha Epsilon on any given afternoon.  It is being reported that Dutton is considering "shaking things up" by moving from the desk to the couch as he prepares for his upcoming Physics II test. #BrotherOfTheWeek #TauTuesday

Despite busy fifth year, Brother Mitch Boyd (PC ’14) takes time out of his day to engage in online team building exercises with Brother George (PC ’15) Bondi (PC ’15) and Lauderdale (PC ’15). Boyd attributes his initial success at Alpha Epsilon to his strong family lineage. “It all starts at the top”, Brother Boyd stated in reference to his older brother, Ryan Murphy (PC ’12) who is currently a Product Manager in Scottsdale. Now, Boyd has stated he has done everything in his power to pass down his knowledge to his little, Brother George (PC ’15). When he is not working with his fellow brothers, Boyd spends his time applying to Law schools and offering guidance to new members.

Soon after IFC announced its first ever Paintball Tournament benefiting the Movember Foundation, the Alpha Epsilon chapter addressed roster concerns after departure of long time paint baller and sharp shooter, Brother Robert Justice (PC ’14). To fill the gap, Brother Huffman (PC ’16) called upon Brother Aaron (PC ’17), who grew up playing paintball, to assemble a team to represent the Taus. Although Brother Sulser (PC ’18) has said he’s “just excited to be on a team”, captain of the group, Brandon Aaron has said he sees nothing but potential in young Tristian. Aaron went on to say the team is expecting Brother Spencer Hamilton, ROTC Cadet, (PC ’17) to step up in a big way this year. Brandon Aaron, who is leading the team out to Splat City in Lagrange, GA, is a second year Mechanical Engineering major hailing from the great city of Huntsville. Brandon has expressed his support for the Paintball Tournament ever since IFC broke news of the event in early September. Brandon and the team leave Sunday and are excited to represent Alpha Epsilon in our ongoing commitment to raise awareness for Men’s health. As a Junior in Finance, Cory dedicates time during the week tutoring in topics ranging from Principles of Finance to Advanced Principles of Finance. Brother Cory, a member of the Financial Management Association, is preparing for his upcoming trip out east where he will be in meetings with JP Morgan and Regions. As an Undergraduate Research Fellow, Brother Jack Schwartz (Fall ‘16) and the Drug and Discovery Department of the Pharmacy School have recently come across a discovery that oleocanthal, a natural compound found in olive oil, is a preventative compound for Alzheimer’s disease. Brother Jack Schwartz has now expanded onto his own project of using Ketone Bodies as a therapeutic for Alzheimer’s disease. As a research ambassador for the pharmacy school, Brother Jack Schwartz not only is providing valuable information to the medical field, but is also encouraging others to do so, and for that we are incredibly thankful for him and his many accomplishments.

Brother Clarkson Smith (PC ‘15) has learned a lot this past year during his time serving as ATO president, but now it’s time for him to pass the torch to recently elected William Snell (PC ‘16). Known for his tenderness, Clarkson is commonly referred to by his brothers as “a gentleman, a scholar, a friend, and a hopeless romantic.” When asked about his post-presidency life, Clarkson responded “my new found free time has given me the ability to reflect on my academics and pursue a career of streaming Red Dead Redemption 2. I hope to make my way into the eSports arena in the next few months.” Though he is done with his presidency, Clarkson has stepped up to be the next brotherhood chair and has assured the chapter that he will “bind men together in a brotherhood based upon eternal and immutable principles with a bond as strong as right itself and as lasting as humanity.” For Clarkson’s many positions he has taken on, Alpha Epsilon thanks him for all of his efforts for the chapter.

This fall, Brother Brent Hansen (PC ‘17) enrolled in the bowling class at Auburn University with good intentions, to strengthen friendships with his pledge brothers and fellow Auburn students. Little did Hansen know, he had a knack for the sport. Not only did he surprise himself, he surprised his entire class by getting the highest scoring honors. Fellow classmate and PC ‘17 member, Reed McMahon, said of Hansen, “Brent not only shocked us, but humbled us each day in class. His ability to improve his stroke each week was what set him apart from the rest of us.” Hansen, a proud native of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, is notable for being an Auburn 247 insider and claims to have elite knowledge and insight of the athletic program. When asked if a Professional Bowlers Association run was in his future, Hansen responded, “It was fun, but I’m a leisure bowler. I wouldn’t rule it out, but I enjoyed bowling each day with guys in my pledge class as well as older guys.” Auburn offers many great physical education programs, and the Taus are asking, “Who could be the next great athlete to emerge?”
